CITB Test Information
To get a CSCS Card you must complete a CITB Health, Safety and Environment test. The test takes 45 minutes. It is a multiple choice test with 50 questions. You must get 45 out of 50 to pass. The CITB test can be taken at over 150 test centres nationwide.
Brief directions
From London Bridge station turn right into Tooley Street. At the fourth turning turn right into Shand Street. Continue down Shand Street and the Test Centre will be located on Holyrod Street (second turning on the right).
The CSCS card is a way to verify that people working on construction sites have the appropriate knowledge and training. This helps prevent on-the-job mishaps that endanger everyone's health and safety. You obtain a CSCS card by taking the CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test. There are 150 CITB test centres nationwide including in London (Southwark).

What to Expect in the Test
Upon arrival to take the CSCS exam, the staff first needs to verify your identity and confirm that you have scheduled to take the exam.
For security reasons, you will be photographed. After the exam starts, you will have 45 minutes to complete it. After you have answered all 50 multiple-choice questions, you will receive a results certificate.
If you fail the exam, you can register for the next exam three days after the first exam. We also recommend that you purchase revision material to help you prepare for taking the test again.
You can find revision material by following this link. It is strongly recommended that you make use of these materials, especially if you don’t pass the first time. In doing so, you will greatly increase the likelihood of earning a passing score.

What to Take With You
In order to take the exam, you need a valid ID. No ID card, no exam. The acceptable form of identification is your UK driving license or passport. If you do not have an ID, you need to bring two other forms of ID.
These include British Armed Forces cards, EU Country cards, union cards, new bank statements, credit or debit cards, or National Insurance cards. For a complete list of acceptable identification, please click here.

What Is The CITB Test?
To hold any CSCS Card, you must first pass the CITB Health, Safety, and Environment Test.
This test has 3 different levels with each level allowing you to hold different CSCS Cards.
At our Southwark Test Centre, all 3 levels of the CITB Test are available to take so, no matter what CSCS Card you are looking to hold, you will be able to pass the relevant test here.

The Operatives Test
This is the test to take for a CSCS Green Card (Labourer) or a CSCS Red Card (Provisional).
The Specialist Test
This is for workers with specialist skills such as Plumbers and Electricians. Passing the Specialist Test allows you to hold a CSCS Red Card for Trainees, Apprentices, or Experienced Workers, a CSCS Blue Card for Skilled Workers, or a CSCS Gold Card for Supervisors.
The Managers and Professionals Test
This is the test to take if you are going to be in a more senior position on a construction site. The Managers and Professionals Test allows you to hold a CSCS Red Card (Technical, Supervisor, Manager), CSCS White Card for Academics or Professionals, or a CSCS Black Card for Managers.
Tips on Passing The CITB Test
Prepare properly - all 3 levels of the CITB Test are challenging and you will need to put in suitable amounts of revision if you want to pass first time. When revising, make sure you are using appropriate revision materials that are of high quality to ensure you are learning the correct information.
Ask questions at the test centre - if you are unsure of how the software works or how the test will be managed, ask a member of staff who will be able to help you better understand things.
Answer every question - there will be questions you probably won't know the answer to. It is a good idea to answer all the questions you know first before going back and making an educated guess on the remaining questions you are unsure of.
