Can I work without a CSCS Green Card?

Some sites may allow access without a CSCS Green Card, but many contractors require one before workers can carry out their duties. Holding a valid CSCS Green Card will greatly improve your access to construction sites and the opportunities for jobs you’ll have.

Do I need to retake the Health & Safety course?

Once passed, the qualification you get from the Health & Safety Awareness course does not expire, so you won’t have to retake it again. The CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test does expire, and it needs to be valid at the time of your application.

If it’s not valid, you’ll need to retake it. You need to have completed the test within the last 2 years to be eligible for a new CSCS card.

Can I renew my Green Card?

Yes, you can renew your Green Card. If you check your CSCS Card and see that it has expired, as long as you reapply no later than one year from the date of expiration, you can get a new card that’ll be valid for another 5 years. Do note that you’ll still need to meet the Green Card eligibility requirements in place at the time of application.
