Those hoping to pursue a career in the UK construction industry will need to be properly certified. Without proper certification, it is virtually impossible to find meaningful construction work since virtually all reputable construction companies have bought into the CSCS Certification Scheme. The three types of test:

The Operatives test: Anyone tasked with performing any type of manual labour on a construction site is an Operative and will need to take this test.

The Managers and Professionals test: Those tasked with general oversight of construction sites will need to take the Managers and Professionals test.

What if You Fail?

If you fail the CITB HS&E test you are not out of options. If you wait a minimum of 48 hours after failing you will be able to register to take the test again. Be mindful, though, that you will have to pay the registration fee again too.
