The Level 5 NVQ in Controlling Lifting – Planning Lifts is a competency-based qualification aimed at individuals currently working in a lifting or crane supervisory role. To undertake this NVQ, you must already be supervising lifting operations, ensuring safety standards are met and all regulations are followed. Without the necessary experience and knowledge in these areas, you will not be eligible for this qualification.
This nationally recognised qualification is ideal for those seeking accreditation to advance their professional career. The assessment covers various modules, including supervising lifting operations, managing workflow, monitoring equipment and machinery, ensuring high-quality work, preparing sites for lifting, and evaluating workforce performance.
Upon completion, you will be eligible to apply for a blue CPCS card (Construction Plant Competence Scheme). To qualify, you must already hold a red CPCS card and have at least six months of additional experience, alongside completing the Crane Supervisor NVQ. This qualification highlights your supervisory experience and enhances your employability. As this is a work-based NVQ, you will need to provide evidence, such as written documents, records, and interviews, for online assessment.
