What You Need for a CSCS Card
If you're applying for a CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card, make sure you have the following documents and information ready:
1. Proof of Identity
Valid passport (UK or international)
OR
- Valid UK driving licence (photocard)
2. Proof of Qualifications
You must provide evidence of your construction-related qualifications:
- NVQ or SVQ certificate (Level 1–6 depending on card type)
OR - Apprenticeship completion certificate
OR - Other industry-recognised qualifications accepted by CSCS
Make sure your qualification is listed on the CSCS website’s approved qualifications list.
3. Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) Test Pass
- Confirmation of a passed CITB HS&E test within the last 2 years
(Provide your pass confirmation letter or number)
4. Employment or Sponsorship Details (if applicable)
- For some card types (e.g. trainee or apprentice cards), you may need:
- Employer details
- Proof of enrolment in a training programme or apprenticeship
5. Payment Method
- Debit or credit card for paying the application fee
