The CSCS card is a way to verify that people working on construction sites have the appropriate knowledge and training. This helps prevent on-the-job mishaps that endanger everyone's health and safety. You obtain a CSCS card by taking the CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test. There are 150 CITB test centres nationwide including in Blackpool.

The CITB Test was introduced in 1995 as a way to keep unqualified persons from construction sites. Since its introduction, it has become widely adopted and you stand little chance of advancing in construction in the UK today without taking the CITB Test and obtaining a card.
What to Expect in the Test
When you arrive at the Blackpool Test Centre you will be required to show ID and sit for a security photo. The test itself takes 45 minutes and is comprised of 50 multiple-choice questions.
What to Take With You
The only thing you must have with you on test day is a valid ID. The preferred forms are either a UK driving license or passport with photo and signature.
If you have neither you will have to show 2 alternative forms of ID. These include a bank statement, a British Armed Forces ID, a valid EU passport, or a Building Society Passbook. For a full list of alternative IDs

What to do Before Going to the Test Centre
