In the past, unqualified and poorly trained individuals were a common cause of construction mishaps. The CSCS card was introduced to address that problem. If you want to work on major construction sites in the UK today you will need to take the CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test and get a CSCS card. Choose From over 150 Test centres nationwide including in Barnstaple.
What to Expect in the Test
The CITB test process is simple and straightforward. When you arrive you will show your ID and then have your photo taken for security purposes. Once the test starts you will be given 45 minutes to answer 50 multiple-choice questions. Before you leave you will receive a results certificate.
What to Take With You
The only thing you absolutely must have is an acceptable form of ID. The preferred forms are a UK driving license with photo and signature, or a UK passport with the same. If you have neither, you will need to show 2 acceptable forms of alternative ID.
Acceptable alternative IDs include an EU Country ID, a British Armed Forces ID, a credit or debit card, a Trade Union Card or a bank statement. For a full list of alternative IDs

What to do Before Going to the Test Centre
Most who fail the test also failed to study beforehand. Don’t let this happen to you. You’ll find useful study aids
