The rules have changed with regards your CSCS Green Card Renewal, from the 1st February 2025 you are required to provide evidence that you are currently working in a Labourer role. Details of this are below:
A. Reduced Validity for First-Time Labourer Cards
Labourer Cards will now be valid for two years instead of five.
Workers can renew their card after two years if they provide proof of employment in a labouring role.
B. Extended CITB Test Validity
The CITB Health, Safety and Environment test, required for Labourer Card applications, will now be valid for three years.
This allows applicants to use the same test for both their initial two-year card and the first renewal, reducing costs and administrative burdens.
C. Proof of Employment Required for Renewal
Labourer Cards issued or renewed before February 2025 will remain valid for five years under existing rules.
For renewals, applicants must prove active employment in a labouring role.
Acceptable proof may include:
- Employer letter on headed paper
- Completion of CSCS Form
