The days when you could walk into the office of a reputable construction company in the UK without any type of certification and get a job are over. If you want to get anywhere in the construction industry today you will need a CSCS card. And to get that you will first need to pass the CITB HS&E test. The CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test provides workers with the information they need to conduct themselves in a responsible manner. If you need to take the CITB test for CSCS card in Worcestershire you can sign up on the Construction Certification website.
About the Test
The CITB HS&E test comprises 50 multiple-choice questions related to job safety. In order to pass you must answer 45 of the 50 questions (90%) correctly. Should you fail the test you can take it again after waiting a minimum of 48 hours. But you will need to register again and pay the testing fee again.
The CITB HS&E test is not optional if you want to get somewhere in the UK construction industry. Without it, you will not be able to obtain the CSCS card you need, and that will effectively bar you from 99% of UK construction sites.
