You will need at least two mandatory qualifications in order to apply for a CSCS Card. Firstly, you must have one of CSCS’ approved qualifications, such as an NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Supervision. This may be completed in college or university.
Additionally, you will need to have passed the CITB Specialist Supervisory Health, safety and environment test within the last two years. You can complete this at your local CITB- approved test centre.
About the CITB Supervisor Test for CSCS Card
Anyone applying for a CSCS Card must first complete the correct CITB Health, Safety and Environment test for their card. The CITB Specialist Supervisory Health, Safety and Environment consists of 50 multiple-choice questions. The questions will test your knowledge on basic health, safety and environmental construction topics, as well as specialist questions for supervisors.
You must answer at least 45 of the 50 questions correctly in order to pass. It is therefore very important you revise in advance of your test; according to statistics, most candidates who fail the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test are those who did not prepare with revision.
