The CSCS card is a way to verify that people working on construction sites have the appropriate knowledge and training. This helps prevent on-the-job mishaps that endanger everyone's health and safety. You obtain a CSCS card by taking the CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test. There are 150 CITB test centres nationwide including in Slough.
What to Expect in the Test
When you arrive, the on-site staff will check your ID, confirm that you have arranged to take the exam at that time, and then take a photo for safety reasons. The test itself takes 45 minutes and includes 50 multiple choice questions. Upon completion, you will receive a certificate with your test results.
If you fail the exam, you can enrol in another exam three days after the first exam. We also recommend that you purchase review materials to help prepare you to retake the exam.
Materials for the version can be found at
this link. It is highly recommended to use these resources, especially if you fail the test the first time. By learning what’s in the test, you will significantly increase your likelihood of getting passing results.

What to Take With You
You will need a valid ID to take the exam. If you do not have an ID card, you cannot take the exam. Accepted forms of identification are a UK driving license or passport. If you don't have proper identification, you must bring two other documents that prove your identity.
These include British Armed Forces cards, EU country cards, credit or debit cards, trade union cards, new bank statements or social security cards. For a full list of accepted IDs, please click

What to Do Before Going to the Test Centre
It is strongly recommended that you take time to revise study material before going to the test. Of those who failed the test, almost ¾ neglected to review it prior to taking the exam. To assist you with this, you can find an overview
