Scaffolder CSCS Card

Although there is no requirement in law that you carry a Scaffolder CSCS Card when working as a scaffolder in the United Kingdom, you may find it difficult to get work if you do not have one. Almost all companies in the building and construction industry will insist that you have a valid card before allowing you onto their sites. With this in mind, it is a good idea to research your options now and apply for a suitable type of CSCS card as soon as possible.

Different Types of Scaffolder CSCS Card

Red CSCS Cards – Apprentice or trainee scaffolders should obtain a Red CSCS Card if they wish to work on construction sites across the UK.
Green CSCS Cards – Scaffolding labourers who hold a recognised health and safety qualification can apply for a Green CSCS Card.
Blue CSCS Cards – If you have some experience and knowledge of different scaffolding structures, together with relevant NVQ/SVQ Level 2 qualifications, you can apply for a Blue Scaffolder CSCS Card.
Gold CSCS Cards – These are intended for supervisors and all applicants should already hold relevant Level 3 or 4 NVQ/SVQ qualifications.
Black CSCS Cards – If you have reached a stage in your scaffolding career where you are interested primarily in management positions and you have a degree or HNC/HND qualification, you can apply for a Black CSCS Card.
