Applying for a Plumbing CSCS Card
If you would like to obtain a CSCS card that makes it easy for you to work on any construction site in the UK, you have several different types of card from which to choose:
- Red - If you are an apprentice or trainee, with no NVQ/SVQ plumbing qualifications, you should apply for a Red CSCS Card.
- Blue – For skilled workers who possess a relevant Level 2 NVQ/SVQ qualification, a Blue Plumber CSCS Card is normally the most appropriate choice. However, if you possess higher qualifications than this, along with supervisory/managerial experience, a Gold or Black card may be more appropriate.
- Gold – Supervisors holding Level 3 or Level 4 NVQ/SVQ qualifications may be able to apply for a Gold CSCS Card.
- Black – Managers with a degree or HND/HNC qualification should apply for a Black CSCS Card if they wish to continue working in managerial plumbing positions on UK construction sites.
