You will need at least two required qualifications in order to apply for a CSCS Card. If you are applying for a CSCS Blue Card, this will be an NVQ Level 2, whereas those who are pursuing a CSCS Gold (Advanced Craft) Card will need an NVQ Level 3. These qualifications are often completed as college diplomas.
You will also need to take the CITB Health, safety and environment test for Operatives. This can be completed at your local, CITB-approved test centre and the results will be valid for 2 years.
About the CITB Test for Plasterer CSCS Card
It is mandatory that anyone applying for a CSCS Card takes the relevant CITB Health, Safety and Environment test. The CITB test for Operatives consists of 50 multiple choice questions, formulated to test your knowledge on foundational topics of health, safety and construction environment.
Tests are only carried out at CITB’s approved test centres, and a score of at least 90% is required to pass. This means you would need to answer 45 of the questions correctly. Statistically, most candidates who fail the CITB test did not prepare in advance by revising the material. It is very important to study in advance of your CITB test.
