Occupational Health and Safety Practice Level 6 NVQ

The Level 6 NVQ in Occupational Health and Safety is a competency-based qualification designed for individuals already working in professional health and safety roles. This qualification provides a nationally recognised accreditation that can enhance your credibility and support the development of your career.

It is suitable for health and safety practitioners, including managers or assistants responsible for developing complex health and safety procedures. To undertake this NVQ, you must already be working in a health and safety role and have a high level of knowledge in the field.

To complete the NVQ, you will need to gather evidence across several mandatory units. These include promoting a positive health and safety culture, developing and implementing health and safety procedures, establishing effective communication systems, maintaining competence at both individual and organisational levels, identifying and controlling risks, implementing monitoring systems, creating emergency response procedures, and continually reviewing and improving health and safety processes.

Upon completion, you will not only demonstrate your expertise as a health and safety practitioner but also become eligible to apply for a black CSCS card, which enhances your employability in managerial roles. As a work-based qualification, the Level 6 NVQ is assessed primarily through the collection of evidence, including photographic and video materials.
