If you aspire to work in the UK construction industry you will need to have a CSCS card, as virtually all construction companies today require them. But in order to obtain a CSCS card you must first pass the CITB HS&E test. The CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test provides workers with the knowledge they need to conduct themselves in a safe and effective manner on construction sites.
Why the CITB HS&E Test is So Important
Construction sites are dangerous places. Construction companies have an interest in mitigating those dangers to the fullest possible extent in order to avoid accidents that could cause delays, property damage, injury or worse. As such, no reputable construction company will allow someone on a jobsite that has not passed the CITB HS&E test. It's really as simple as that.
