There are at least two qualifications you must obtain for a CSCS Black Card. Firstly, you must possess one of the accepted core qualifications for the card. This may be an NVQ Level 5 or above, which could be completed in college or university. In addition to this, you’ll need to complete the required CITB Managers and Professionals Health, Safety and Environment Test. This must be completed at a CITB-approved test centre, and the results will be valid for 2 years.
About the Managers CITB test for CSCS Card
The CITB Health, Safety and Environment test is mandatory for anyone applying for a CSCS card. The CITB Managers and Professionals Health, Safety and Environment test consists of 50 multiple-choice questions, of which you must answer 46 correctly in order to pass. There are questions on the foundational topics of construction safety, as well as specialist questions for managers.
It is important to revise in advance of your test; statistics show that the majority of those who fail the CITB test are those that did not prepare by studying in advance.
