To do that you will need to pass the CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) HS&E (Health, Safety and Environment) test. This test comes at the end of a day-long course designed to familiarise participants with the right way to conduct themselves on an active jobsite. The 3 Different CITB Tests

1.

The Operatives test: The Operatives test is intended for those performing physical labour on a worksite. Carpenters, electricians and the like will need to take the Operatives test.

2.

The Specialists test: If you perform a supervisory role on a construction site you will need to take and pass the Specialists test. Remember: No manual labour allowed.

3.

The Managers & Professionals test: Project managers, site managers and others given high-level oversight responsibilities will need to take and pass the Managers & Professionals test.
The CITB HS&E test is given at the end of the day-long course. It is composed of 50 multiple-choice questions directly related to safety and health issues raised during the course. In order to pass the test and receive certification you must answer 90% of the questions correctly (45 out of 50). 

Should you fail you will need to wait 48 hours before you are eligible to retake the test. However, you will need to register again and pay the testing fee again as well. Remember, if you hope to work for a reputable construction company you will need to be certified.
