NVQ Overview
The Level 7 NVQ in Construction Senior Management is an advanced qualification designed for managers who oversee construction projects from design to completion, with responsibilities that include technical design, team management, and risk assessment. This qualification not only validates your expertise in senior construction management but also enhances your understanding of health and safety procedures and other key aspects of leadership in the construction industry. Upon completing the NVQ, you will meet the Chartered Institute of Building's latest standards for construction site management, which can lead to opportunities in professional sectors. Additionally, you will be eligible to apply for a black CSCS card, demonstrating your proficiency in senior construction management.
This work-based qualification is centred on your current skills and knowledge, with a focus on senior management roles, including technical expertise, people management, procurement, forecasting, and quality assurance. You will also be expected to have a solid understanding of financial management in construction projects. The NVQ consists of core mandatory units and optional units tailored to your career goals and skills, with the guidance of an assessor who will help you select the most relevant optional units. Progress is tracked through a combination of online evidence submission and telephone discussions.
The Level 7 NVQ offers formal recognition for those operating at a senior level, including company directors, contracts/project managers, senior site managers, senior quantity surveyors, senior estimators, and senior engineers.
