NVQ Overview
The Level 3 NVQ in Occupational Health and Safety is a competency-based qualification designed for individuals who are already professionally engaged in implementing health and safety procedures in the workplace. This NVQ offers a credible, nationally recognized qualification that can enhance and advance your professional career.
It's essential that you are currently employed in a health and safety role and possess a solid understanding of the field before pursuing this NVQ. The qualification requires you to gather sufficient evidence for several mandatory units. You will be assessed on your ability to promote a positive health and safety culture, develop and implement health and safety procedures, establish effective communication systems, maintain competence at both individual and organizational levels, identify and control health and safety risks, develop and implement monitoring systems, create emergency response procedures, review systems, and continuously improve these processes.
In addition to demonstrating your competence as a health and safety practitioner, successful completion of this NVQ will enable you to apply for a black CSCS card, increasing your employability in managerial roles. The Level 6 NVQ is a work-based qualification, assessed primarily through evidence collection, including photographic and video evidence.
