NVQ Overview
The Level 3 NVQ in Civil Engineering for Technicians, offered by the Institute of Civil Engineers, is a competency-based qualification designed for individuals currently employed in a construction environment or those with sufficient knowledge, skills, and experience to undertake this advanced course. To successfully complete the Level 3 Engineering qualification, you must demonstrate proficiency across various modules, requiring access to a construction environment for evidence collection. The course includes assessments on both mandatory and optional modules, covering topics such as health and safety procedures, work method assessment, work organization and control, machinery operation, communication systems, work accuracy, coordination, and quality assurance.
Upon completing the Level 3 Civil Engineering NVQ, you will be eligible to apply for a Gold CSCS card. Additionally, passing the CITB health, safety, and environment test is required. A Gold CSCS card indicates your experience and capability in a supervisory role, enhancing your employability in related positions.
