You must complete at least two qualifications in order to be eligible for a CSCS Skilled Worker Card. Firstly, you will need a NVQ Level 2 or equivalent. This could be completed in the form of a college diploma.
In addition to this, you are required to have passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test for Operatives in the last 2 years. This can be completed at your local approved CITB test centre. You will need to hold on to the resulting score report in order to apply for your card.
About the CITB Test for Carpenter CSCS Card
The correct CITB Health, Safety & Environment test is a requirement for anyone applying for a CSCS card. For a Carpenter, this would be the standard test for Operatives, consisting of 50 multiple choice questions based around health, safety and environmental topics related to construction.
Tests are only carried out at CITB’s approved test centres, and you will need a score of at least 90% to pass. This means you need to answer 45 of the 50 questions correctly. Statistics show that the majority of people who fail their CITB Operatives test did not sufficiently prepare with revision. It is highly recommended that you revise in advance of your test.
