What to Take With You

If you do not have one of those, you will need to show 2 alternative forms of ID. These include an EU Country ID card, a Trade Union card, a British Armed Forces card, a credit or debit card, a National Insurance card, or a recent bank statement. Make Sure You Take the Right Test
There are 3 different CITB Health, Safety and Environment tests and it's crucial that you schedule the right test for the card you’re after. The tests currently being given are:
1: The Operatives Test
The Operatives Test is the most basic CITB HS&E test, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. You would do well to pick up some revision materials and put them to use. That said, the Operatives Test is given to those looking for a Green Card to work as a labourer on construction sites in Portsmouth, or a Provisional Red Card that provides the holder access to sites for specific academic or professional reasons.
2: The Specialist Test
The next step up from the Operatives Test is the Specialist Test. This test should be taken by those with special skills, such as Electricians, Gas Engineers, Pipe Fitters and others who wish to gain entry to UK Construction sites. Those seeking a Blue Card (Skilled Workers), Red Card (Experienced Worker, Apprentice or Trainee), or a Gold Card (Supervisory) should take the Specialist Test.
3: The Managers and Professionals Test
The highest level of CITB Test is the Managers and Professionals Test. This is given to people who occupy upper-level positions in the construction industry. If you are seeking a Red Card (Technical, Supervisory or Managerial), White Card (Academic or Professional), or Black Card (Managerial) you will need to take this test
Tips to Help with the Test
Tip 1: Preparation is the key - Most people who fail these tests failed to study beforehand. Buy some quality revision materials and use them.
Tip 2: Learn the software - You’ll have an opportunity prior to the test to get familiar with the test software. Make good use of this opportunity.
Tip 3: Don’t waste time on 1 question - If it takes you more than a minute to answer, either guess and move on or move on and circle back to the question later.
Tip 4: Answer all the questions - A guess gives you a 20-25% chance of being right. A blank gives you no chance. If you don’t know, don’t leave it blank, make a guess.
