The CSCS card is a way to verify that people working on construction sites have the appropriate knowledge and training. This helps prevent on-the-job mishaps that endanger everyone's health and safety. You obtain a CSCS card by taking the CSCS Health, Safety & Environment Test. There are 150 CSCS test centres nationwide including in Oxford.
What to Expect in the Test
When you arrive, the on-site staff will check your ID, confirm that you have arranged to take the exam at that time, and then take a photo for your safety. The test itself takes 45 minutes and includes 50 multiple-choice questions. Upon completion, you will receive a certificate of your results.
If you fail the exam, you can register for the next exam three days after the first exam. We also recommend that you purchase review materials to help you prepare for retaking the exam.
You can find revision material at this link
. It is strongly advised that you take advantage of these materials, especially if you don’t pass the test the first time. By studying, you will greatly increase your likelihood of earning a passing score.

What to Take With You
In order to take the exam, you need a valid ID. If you don’t have an ID card, you can’t take the exam. The acceptable forms of identification are your UK driving license or your passport. If you do not have an ID, you need to bring two other forms of ID.
These include British Armed Forces cards, EU Country cards, credit or debit cards, Trade Union cards, new bank statements, or National Insurance cards. For a complete list of acceptable IDs, please click here
What to do Before Going to the Test Centre
It is strongly suggested that you spend time revising before going for your test. Of those who fail the test, nearly ¾ neglected to review it before taking the exam. To help you with this, you can find an overview here
