The CSCS card is a way to verify that people working on construction sites have the appropriate knowledge and training. This helps prevent on-the-job mishaps that endanger everyone's health and safety. You obtain a CSCS card by taking the CSCS Health, Safety & Environment Test. There are 150 CSCS test centres nationwide including in Cheltenham.

Nearly every major construction company in the UK now require workers to have a CSCS Card. The Card is obtained only by passing the CITB Health, Safety and Awareness test, also known as the CSCS Test. To take the test you must book ahead.
What to Expect in the Test
You can expect to be turned away if you are late or you do not have an acceptable form of ID. Once inside the Cheltenham Test Centre, you will have your picture taken and then sit for the test. The test will be 50 multiple choice questions and you will have 45 minutes to answer them.
What to Take With You
You must appear on time with an acceptable form of identification. For most people that means a UK passport or driving license.
You can still take the test if you don’t have those, as long as you present 2 acceptable alternatives. Acceptable alternative IDs include a bank statement, a British Armed Forces ID, or a credit/debit card. To see the full list of acceptable alternatives, click here
