The CSCS card is a way to verify that people working on construction sites have the appropriate knowledge and training. This helps prevent on-the-job mishaps that endanger everyone's health and safety. You obtain a CSCS card by taking the CSCS Health, Safety & Environment Test. There are 150 CSCS test centres nationwide including in Chatham.

For 25 years the CSCS Card has improved safety on construction sites nationwide. But they’re not free for the asking. To get one you must pass the CITB Health, Safety and Awareness test, also known as the CSCS Test.
What to Expect in the Test
If you arrive late to the Chatham Test Centre you can expect to be turned away. So be prompt. Once inside your photo will be taken for security purposes. The test will include 50 multiple choice questions and you will have 45 minutes to answer them.
What to Take With You
If you do not have an acceptable form of ID you will be turned away. For most people, this will be a UK driving license or a UK passport.
If you do not have one of those, not to worry. You can still take the test if you can produce 2 alternative forms of ID. Acceptable alternatives include a Proof of Age Card, National Insurance Card and Trade Union Card. Click here
